Basketball for Development Center Mutengene Inauguration 26th of November 2011

The Basketball for Development Center in Mutengene South West Region will be inaugurated November 26th 2011. In collaboration with the Cameroonian Basketball Federation and national partners working in resource management and conservation, malaria and HIV/AIDS prevention and education an inauguration tournament will be carried out. The event will take place on the 26.11.2011 from 9 a.m. until late afternoon.

Tag des Licher BasketballsTag des Licher BasketballsDer Fanclub “Basketbären” veranstaltet am Sonntag, den 28. August. 2011 zusammen mit der ProB-Mannschaft der Licher BasketBären einen “Tag des Licher Basketballs”.

Der Tag des Basketballs beginnt bereits um 14:00 Uhr rund um die Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Halle in Lich. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, die neue Mannschaft kennen zu lernen, neuste Informationen zur demnächst beginnenden Saison zu erhalten und das eine oder andere Gespräch zu führen. Danach (16:30 Uhr) findet ein Spiel der Licher Basketballjugend statt.

Um 17.30 Uhr kommt es zum Highlight des Tages, dem Abschiedsspiel von Rolf „Rollodinho“ Scholz. Die aktuelle Zweitligamannschaft der Licher BasketBären tritt gegen die „Rolf Scholz Allstars“ an.
Der Erlös dieser Begegnung geht vollständig an ‘Basketball for Development’.

Für die jüngeren Besucher wird eine Hüpfburg aufgebaut und ein Basketballkorb steht ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Für das leibliche Wohl ist mit Kaffee und Kuchen, Gegrilltem, Salaten und allerlei Getränken bestens gesorgt. Eine Tombola mit tollen Preisen darf natürlich nicht fehlen. Der Erlös daraus geht vollständig an ‚Basketball Aid e.V‘.

Ruben Boumtje Boumtje supports Basketball for Development e.V.Ruben Boumtje Boumtje (born May 20, 1978 in Edea, Cameroon) is a Cameroonian professional basketball player. He is a 7’0″, 245 lbs center. He is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., U.S., and played in the NBA.
Since 2010 he has played in the German First Division for the Artland Dragons and is a Cameroonian National Team Player.

Basketball for Development Centre Mutengene almost finalised!

Basketball for Development Zentrum in Mutengene fast fertig gestelltAfter three month construction period and some difficulties the Mutengene Basketball for development center is almost finalised. Since serious rains have already started in June the construction was not as easy as initialy planned. After completion of the court and the building we’ll now stop and continue after the heavy rains in October and plan the inauguration tournament for November.
